Proponents of ear candles claim that this creates a low-level vacuum that draws the ear of wax and other debris out of the ear and into the hollow candle.

After the procedure, a dark, waxy substance is usually left in the stub of the candle.

How to use:

1: Size the narrow end of the candle in your ear.

2: Sit and tilt your head over.

3. Put a hole the size of the end of the ear candle in a piece of foil or a tin pan for safety.

4. Position the narrow end of the candle securely in your ear.

5. Let the candle burn to within 3-4 inches (7.6 to 10.2 cm).

6 . Clean the visible part of the ear canal with a cotton swab if necessary.
